This week I 'aaaave been mostly visiting B3ta. Very very funny. I have even contributed to the boiling mass of nonsense. Have a look. Arf. One day I may even put up a page devoted to this most titillating of web ventures.
March 2004 Archives
More DJing antics: Myself and m'very good friend Graham Chalmers are playing at "RG's" (formerly "The Rock Garden") on Queen Street, Glasgow on 2nd April. (That's a Friday). Your have two options regarding your location on that night...
Sod that then (see 17/03/2004). I was actually going for the whole 'desktop management' thing, with the task bar, and the window manager, and the desktop, and the inter-application communication, and the web of Nyyyyyyloooooon.
Shouldn't have bothered. Most of this sort of functionality is already in Swing. JDesktopPane, anyone?
There was me wondering why no-one had thought of this before. And the cry was "OMG! ROTFLMAO! RTFAPI, Newbie scum!" Ah well. Some day I'll come up with a decent project. Cessation of respiration in anticipation of said event is (of course) ill advised.

I'm working on a file management system, written in Java (Swing). You know the sort of thing, icons, menu-bars, multiple windows, blah blah... The reason it's in Swing is so that it can be used on any system, and it should look the same.
Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions for useful features. Anything you've come across that you think should be included. The whole thing's going to be GPL'ed when it approaches usability, so it could be to your benefit.

Changed 'uploadjam' on the scripts page to make it more understandable. The old version was a mess. This time it's just disorganised.
In the interests of public safety / sanity, I have decided to remove
the links to goatse and tubgirl. I'm getting hits from people coming
from di.fm, and quite frankly I don't want to be associated with that sort of thing. 08/03/2004, and 01/02/2004 will no longer make sense. What can I say, you get what you pay for.
Woo! Yay! Hoopla! I've got some serious screen real-estate now. I've slapped an Apple Multiple Scan 15 monitor onto the second head of my GeForce FX. Now I can watch the telly on one, and code crap like this on the other.
Or HTML open on one monitor; rendered page open on the other.
Or audio visualisations on one; pr0n^H^H^H^H work on the other.
Also, there's something about watching Linux boot on two screens at once...

Oh God. I've found a goatse mirror (see 01/02/2004 for further details). It's here, but anyone who's reading this at work need NOT apply. That's actually not what I'm 'Oh God'ing about though. There can be no conditions under which you would wish to see what's at the end of this link. Like goatse, it's ill advised for those who value their office job.
It's actually ill advised for those who value their eyes. Or stomach contents. Tempted yet?

I've found a rant I wrote on LinuxQuestions about Linux, and why I use it.
The top of the thread is here, and my rant is here. I was drunk if I remember rightly, so it's quite impassioned.
