I've moved the scripts. They've eaten all their greens, so I thought they deserved a page of their own.
Another wee update - the debackup script now deletes '.bak' files too. I discovered that these are created by Aspell (incidentally, Aspell is very useful, as it has an HTML mode, so it doesn't try to spell check tags).

Made some structural changes to the site. Please, don't get too excited.

Fixed the thumb script to do things more sensibly (it now takes full paths for both inputs, should you so desire). Enjoy. Or not.

Just a quick update - I couldn't resist posting the gayest 404 error page I have ever had the (dubious) pleasure of seeing. This should be preserved for posterity - future generations will enjoy a laugh. I've also updated one of the scripts on the Linux page. Peruse at your leisure.

I've hit the ton on the SETI project. In the words of Steve Ballmer, "Give it up for me".

Hmmm. Peculiar shenanigans going on at PayPal. See, I bought (another) one of these on e-bay. The seller prefers PayPal, so I go and register (I used to have an account, but closed it, because I never used it). Two days later PayPal e-mails me to say my account has been suspended because of suspicious activity. I'm thinking PayPal must be paranoid as f**k, because there's been no, none, zip, nada activity on the account. No money in, no money out. None.
Having visited the site to find out what the issue could be, I find out that they want me to fax them my passport / driving licence. I say bugger that for a game or soldiers.
Thankfully, it would appear that I'm lucky. I had no money in my account. Others have had a different experience.
I await PayPal's response to my request to close my account.

Oh yeah. My sadness knows no bounds. I have acquired a new domain name. You can now get here via:

I've got a few shell scripts (bash) that I use all the time - you might find a use for them. Be extremely careful with these - two of them will attempt to remove files from your filesystem, and all were made with my system in mind, and may not be suitable for anyone else. Anyway, if you're still game....

There's some shell scripts on the Linux page. Nothing worthy of 'Hacker of the Year', but genuinely useful. I use them anyway...
Seriously though, they're mostly one-liners. You can get this sort of shit from the man pages.

Quitting smoking officially sucks ass through the shortest of straws. On the other hand though, my sleepless nights are enabling me to learn C++. I'll post anything useful I write in the Linux section. Breath holding is discouraged.

That's right; ILikeJam never rests in the quest to bring you shit you don't need, but you might just find you want. As promised, there's now a Linux section. For happiness and prosperity, look left towards the links and find an appropriately named one.
It's small but perfectly formed at the moment. Hopefully in the future it will become a massive, unruly, ill-formatted page worthy of nomination for The Worst of the Web.

A very happy new year to all who happen upon this site. I trust you are well, and fully prepared to get your geek on with us (well, me) at ILikeJam in this most brand spanking portion of this otherwise slightly used Millennium.
